She is a Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist (CAGCS) and Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor II (CDC II).
Brittany is passionate about helping people shift from living to thriving. She holds the belief that every individual has unique experiences; that healing and making change should be a tailored process for every individual and family. Achieving mental, spiritual, physical, and emotional balance is essential in her work with clients toward creating a more effective life.
Brittany works with her clients to identify and utilize their strengths as tools to achieve their full potential and meet their life goals. Her clinical approach aligns with a Humanistic and Person-Centered method to counseling. She incorporates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and grief and loss work into her therapeutic approach. Brittany enjoys working with individuals and families through the many stages of life and challenging life transitions.
Brittany is especially passionate about working with parents who have children with special needs. She has a compassionate approach to supporting parents who are navigating the unique challenges of raising a child with a disability, and tailors psychotherapeutic interventions that meet each family’s individual needs. As a parent of a special needs child herself, Brittany can relate to the emotional experiences which arise throughout your child’s growth. Brittany’s therapeutic approach is focused on the parent’s well-being while also working with parents to assure their child’s health and wellness across the family’s lifespan, improving family dynamics by empowering parents through empathy and education, and developing resiliency and advocacy skills.
Brittany works with all of her clients to identify distorted patterns of thinking, improve emotional awareness and tolerance, and make changes to behaviors that prevent overall health and wellness.
Brittany believes that people deserve the respect and care that a psychotherapist can provide; she believes that no one must heal alone, and is honored to join her clients on a journey towards balance and wellness.
Brittany is a born and raised Alaskan. She enjoys spending free time with her two children and husband at their cabin in Northern Alaska.
