BE A PART OF OUR THERAPEUTIC TEAM!
Coastal Wellness & Counseling, LLC (CWC) is a privately-owned counseling clinic based in Anchorage, Alaska that provides mental health services statewide to individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan.
CWC was founded in 2018 by Ashley M. Barrera, LMFT-S and has developed into a thriving counseling clinic. Our dedicated clinicians are passionate about practicing from a systemic and interdisciplinary approach and seek to help our clientele heal relationally.
In 2022, Ashley partnered with two well-respected Alaskan clinicians, Whitney M. Whitman, LPC and Prentiss Pemberton, LCSW. Together, we bring decades of experience and professional strengths to further the mission of CWC and develop ethical business practices that support the clinical staff.
Our mission is founded on three core values: integrity, education, and connection. When integrated, these values create our organizational ethos which focuses on providing (1) excellence in clinical care for our clients, (2) on-going professional development through clinical supervision/consultation and continuing education in empirically based and innovative treatment modalities for our clinicians, and (3) training and networking opportunities to connect members of the Alaskan mental health community.
At CWC we believe clinical integrity and professional ethics exist throughout each moment of the client experience. This begins with obtaining true informed consent not only for clinical services, but through a clear understanding of the financial aspect of receiving clinical care. Our administrative staff work with new clients to educate them about the details of their insurance benefits and/or out-of-pocket expenses so that they can make informed decisions about their mental health care. We strive to treat the whole person by healing both individual and relational problems. Many clients at CWC receive individual, couple, and/or family therapy through a team-based approach. Clinicians working with a family system as a team allows for clear and defined roles that avoid dual relationships.
Our goal is to grow CWC by building a team of dedicated and likeminded professionals who believe in our mission and are looking for a long-term professional home. Full-time licensed clinicians at CWC make between $100,000 - $115,000 per year, enjoy flexible schedules, work with their desired clientele, and are eligible for a comprehensive and competitive benefit package.
Ashley M. Barrera, LMFT is also accepting Marriage & Family Therapy Associate (MFT-A) supervisees who are working toward their Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT) license in Alaska. MFT-As are eligible for both full-time and part-time positions with CWC which include opportunities for paid training and certifications including, but not limited to, The Gottman Method, Relational Life Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Brainspotting, and Polyvagal Theory. MFT-As employed at CWC also receive free individual and group supervision from both Ashley and her mentor, Mercy Dennis LMFT.
