Marriage and Family Therapy Associate

Pronouns: She/Her

Roxie Powell is a Marriage and Family Therapy Associate and began her career in the mental health field in 2019, graduating from Regent University in 2022 with her master’s degree in Marriage, Couples and Family Counseling. She provides counseling for couples, families, and individuals ages 5+.

Roxie’s passion for mental wellness started when she became a military spouse and discovered the difficulties families face with frequent disruptions and reintegration of the military member. That spark led to her back to school to pursue her master’s degree.

Roxie’s undergraduate education in Biology has given her a deep appreciation for the empirical work that surrounds the attachment-based therapy approach. She utilizes Emotionally Focused Therapy EFT) as her primary modality to help couples and families develop a better understanding of their attachment needs and  foster clear communication. Roxie strives for excellence in therapy, and this has led her to become a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). She continues to expand her depth through trainings in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution Building Couples Therapy, Bibliotherapy, Dissociative Identity Disorder, and Attachment Theory.

Roxie holds the belief that humans are innately relational and wired for connection. She believes clients can maximize their potential if they are given a nurturing environment of understanding, acceptance, and unconditional positive regard.
